After the storm..

After the storm..

February 20th Sycamore Cove Canyon Campground

5 days of tailwind pretty much made up for the hard times we had entering Big Sur. The coast of Big Sur is amazing in any weather as long as you can keep cycling and not get blown off your bike by the wind.
We all agreed to poach the road closure at Lucia after the gods dumped hail on us and our friend barely survived an upset stomach that day mid day on the side of the road...it all came out.
I fired up my little GoPro for evidence riding through the closure- the guards at the gate didn’t make a peep and even opened the gate for us. It never even slowed us down...
Rumors had it, that the road is opened at the second closure by Gorda which turned out to be correct. After spending another cushy night in a hotel we sailed right through and out of Big Sur. Our first day of tail wind......and I mean it: We freaking SAILED in double time!!!!
The world is right again when the sky is blue and the wind on your side.
