Bill's Big Trip "Imagine there's no countries, it isn't hard to do, nothing to kill or die for. Imagine all the people living life in peace. Imagine all the people sharing all the world. I hope someday you'll join us and the world will live as one." John Lennon

Cusco Peru to Foz do Iguazu Argentina

i was pretty optimistic starting out but hit a couple of road blocks along the way. I had a 5 hour layover in La Paz Bolivia that cost me $135. for a Bolivia visa.US cash. I started to argue, but visions of midnight express flashed through my brain. At Asuncion Paraguay they dinged me for $160. US $. My "book" said no visa needed for Paraguay. It's after midnight, they want 30 to 40 $ to get to town, I have no hotel reservation, I spent the night at the airport......I've slept in worse places. Day break take a 20$ cab ride to the bus station. Good timing/luck my bus was leaving in 5 minutes to Ciudid del  Este......which was close to where I was going. I was beat, slept and this morning got a bus to Foz do Iguazu. Hope to visit the falls tomorrow, will pass along pictures.

Either you paid too much for your 'book', or you were ripped off by the Paraguayans, or both.

About lipowcan8

A quick recap. I visited 19 countries in 212 days, traveled 46,000 miles by air,15,000 miles by land and spent about $25,000. My feet got beat up a few times and I twisted my ankle a couple of times. No plane, train, car, bus, tuk tuk or taxi mishaps, not even a fender bender. I wasn't threatened or harassed and amazingly enough I didn't lose anything. It's hard to believe seven months have passed. As I said in my first entry.....a wonderful way to celebrate 60 years of living. It sure was!
