Day 25 - Pizza & Beer on a Sunday Afternoon

Hi everyone
I have to say that Mendoza is one of the most enjoyable places I have been so far. The atmosphere is chilled out, the city is clean & easy to navigate with plenty of parks & trees - and most importantly they take Sunday lunch as a serious affair with restaurants spilling over onto the sidewalks in between massive green trees.
Today I chilled out, after getting a late night last night (got to bed around 4am...) and went for a city walk to check the sites. There is a big plaza here called Independencia Plaza, with a fountain and markets - very similiar to Civic Park but with more concrete! Its a lovely atmosphere, families ahanding out & couples pashing as far as the eye can see - they are very affectionate here in Argentina.
In the afternoon I took in a pizza and some local ale - Andes lager - supposedly comes from the Andes (but tastes like Tooheys Extra Dry really) & watched the people pass by.
Leisurely strolled back to the Hostel (which is an amazing place) to have a siesta and then watch some champions league futbol/football/soccer before chilling out with the other travellers over a beer and some cards tonight.
I start Spanish school for a week tomorrow, so I will have to be alert and keep of the red wine (other than a glass or 2 with dinner) to ensure I maximise my learning! At the moment, i´m just enjoying this wonderful part of the world, before hitting the cityscape of Buenos Aires again!
Until next time,
Take care
Lani
