In and around Maun, then the road towards Shakawe, Botswana

Lunches and dinners were spent at Thamalakane Lodge by the river where a disgruntled hippo was snorting away, Maun Lodge where we enjoyed the wifi for our blog, Hillary’s healthy eating place and dinners with friends.

We left Maun via the western side of the Delta and stayed at Drotsky’s Cabins in the campsite. We once again took the sunset river cruise to view hippos and other wildlife.  The birds are beautiful here - and we’re sure that same Pel’s fishing owl still sits on the tree at Shakawe!

Then it was on to Seronga over the ferry at Mohembo.  The road there is still bad but the destination was worth the 100kms of dust and bumps.
