These women are washing in the river at Rakops. The river has been dry for many years so the river floiwng through the town comes with welcome relief.

Day trip to Rakops, Northern Kalahari, Botswana

The Boteti River starts at Maun and flows towards Lake Xau through the village of Rakops into the Kalahari where all that water from the Delta just simply disappears. It was the first time Jim had ever seen water flowing through Rakops.  In the past 3 years the river has been flowing because of heavy rains in Angola.
