Well, we survived Witch's Night with no outside furniture removed, and May Day dawned with another morning of drippy rain. After nearly 3 months of perfectly pleasant touring weather from Seattle to Germany and only using umbrellas for three brief periods, we've had a couple of days of daylong rain to complement the new green of the trees covering the Pfalzer Forest and the portions of the Schwartz Forest that aren't covered in conifers.
The Stelzenberg Maypole was repainted and topped with fresh evergreens by the local fire ladder truck, but no celebrations (or nighttime devilry) in this sleepy village.
