40 Years Later 40 years later, the gnome takes a step out the door to pick up where the trip turned back many years ago.

Opa in the Alps

GERMANY | Friday, 8 May 2015 | Views [458]

it is hard to imagine a lovelier setting than the Bavarian Alps in Spring with log work huts dotting the fields of yellow and white wildflowears in the sunshine, backed by the very close and pointed granite spires of the peaks, with their patches of white glacier and snow and their tips alternately hidden and revealed in the clouds. This tops even May in the wildflower-covered prairies of South Dakota with running herds of wild horses.

Ah, and the traditional strawberries and eis cream topping off a crispy pork knuckle, kraut, and knoerdln with their wonderful alkoholfrei weissbier. Adding a supper of laktosefrei cheeses from the Ettal Monastery and I'm happy, happy, happy.
