After brekky we headed off to Brugge for the day. The train there was so packed – school holidays but got there. Walked from the railway station into the centre of town where we did a mini hop on hop off bus to check out all the sights. Brugge like Ghent has canals, cobbled streets and medieval buildings. The city centre architecture is all so old, some dating back to the 13th-century. We checked out a historical exhibition which gave us some idea of what people of that day did and saw. They also had a virtual experience which was fun. We climbed the church tower where the 13th century belfry has a 47-bell carillon and panoramic views (Lyn checked out the Salvador Dali exhibition as she is not keen on heights). Saw Michelangelo’s “Madonna and Child” which was beautiful. Spent some time wandering the streets soaking in the atmosphere. The weather is still beautiful – 28ish and blue sky. The Belgians are complaining of a heat wave 😊. Ended up having a night in, having tea in the little garden and of course watching some soccer.
