Today it was Ian's turn to be the child in the lolly shop as we spent the day at the Kennedy Space Centre at Cape Canaveral. We had lunch with a real astronaut and he told us about some of his experiences in the space shuttle. His name is Jon McBride (should google him - a real underachiever - not), went for a ride in a launch simulator, toured the facility including the launch sites, the Saturn 5 rocket, the actual Atlantis shuttle, details & memorabilia on all the Apollo missions, and the list goes on. An excellent day. And Kerstins day was made by spotting 9 wild alligators and a dolphin as we travelled around. The countryside round here is so green and lush and no one seems to care about water usage - which does my head in a bit!! Discovered tonight that we could see the Disney fireworks from our balcony - what a bonus!!
