Decided to try for the Snowdon cog railway. We found they had put on an extra train as the weather was so good (21??) but we had a four hour wait. So we drove into Conway and explored the castle there, built 13th century and still lots of it intact. Was interesting, and the town walls were quite incredible as there was very little gone. Then back up to the top of Snowdon. It's a long way up and here they are also good at growing rocks, as well as sheep. The engine actually pushes the carriages up the mountain. On the way back we stopped at Llangollen and climbed up to Castell Dinas Bran, another 13th century castle, but only the remains of one. As you can imagine, Ian had a great day.
