Did a day tour of Tuscany and it was good. Started the day at the small walled town of Monte Riggioni - it is at the top of a hill and you could see how it is very defensible. We spent the majority of the day inSienna which was interesting with the preparations for the Palio di Siena which is a mad horse race. The cathedral was also interesting but the highlight of the day was a visit to San Gimignano which is a medieval walled town which is very little changed in structure over the years. The climb up the tower (I know, more steps) showed off a brilliant view. The final stop on the day was at the Sovestero in Poggio winery for some wine tasting with cheese and salami.
