So just about managed to survive the overnight greyhound journey, but I did pretty much want to kill someone when we finally arrived. Specifically the guy sitting in front of me who did not stop talking for at least 4 hours and his Alzheimer girlfriend who kept forgetting where her seat was each time she got up to use the bathroom and who kept hushing him every 5 minutes!!!! Oh and I say giirlfriend he was probably 50 and she looked about 170! Thank god I was traevlling with Mario and Jon or else I could easily have lost the plot.
Anyway we made it to the hostel and pretty much crashed out for the afternoon. In the evening I managed to scrounge a couple of pieces of pizza from a guy called Dakota as had no food and there was nothing nearby - what a nice guy.
day 2 in Nashville and I am determined to see some stuff here as I feel like I failed in New Orleans. So went to the park to have a look at the Parthenon - yes that's right. basically it is a full scale model of the parthenon that was built of the 18 something or other exposition and was so popular they decided to keep it. Just my luck though it was closed because they were filming some movie there - and before you ask no I didn't bother to find out which one. So after this failure to see anything much I determined that i would at least experience the music scene tonight and so went to Broadway with Gavin, Michael, Tane, Jakob and an Italian guy whose name I didn't catch. Quite fun being the only girl out with all the guys. We went to the World famous Robert's world of music bar and hear something that could have been country or western - I have no idea, then a fifties style group came on and the place pretty much emptied!. tried another bar across the street which was empty - no wonder the music was suicidal and finally went into Tootsies where the atmosphere was great and the music brilliant. the lead singer of the group reminded me alittle of Jay but typically I forgot to get my camera out so have no record of how great they were.
Long walk back to the nostel but an excellent night out.
