Wow it's been a while since I last updated this - just been so busy!
Well New Orleans, what can I say - very hot and very humid! And if truth be told a little depressing as you can still very much see the effects of Katrina. That said the French Quater is very touristy but also has some interesting buildings and a lively feel. Even better than the that was the hostel. Possibly the most fun hostel I have stayed in so far as the staff go out of their way to be friendly and they cook cheap meals and provide cheap drinks on a fairly regular basis. There were also quite a lot of musicians staying at the hostel and they have a stage with microphones so we hadd free music a couple of nights. The up shot of that was I never made to Bourbon street for a night out as it was too much fun and a lot cheaper at the hostel! Oh and they had a pool to make the hot days a little more comfortable.
Went out on Sunday with a couple of other people for a swamp tour which was great fun. We saw a couple of big alligators and a few smaller ones as well. To get them to come alongside the boat they feed them marshmallows of all things! And our guide also had some hotdogs which he stuck on a stick to get them to jump out of the water for us - pretty cool :o)
Anyway I sadly had to leave New Orleans and suffer another overnight on the greyhound to Nashville but at least this time I had Mario and Jon (two British guys) with me for company and safety.
