History of the World in 100 Objects: British Museum Scavenger Hunt

UNITED KINGDOM | Tuesday, 17 July 2012 | Views [1875]

British Museum scavenger hunt,

British Museum scavenger hunt, "History of the World in 100 Objects"

Which objects would best represent your life?  Maybe a teddy bear, a bike, a wedding dress, and bronzed baby shoes perhaps?  The British Museum has selected a mere one hundred objects to tell the entire story of the human race.  And today we tracked them down in one of the world's great museums.  For free!

  Stone scraper, the first tool?

From a stone scraper found in Tanzania's Olduvai Gorge to a 21st Century Visa card, these objects span the length and breadth of human history.  The objects themselves are interesting but it is the story about their influence on art, commerce, transportation, religion, communication - on all facets of our history - that are truly interesting.

21st Century artifact, don't leave home without it!

So check them out on-line and come to the Museum and see if you can find them all.  It's a great way to spend a rainy day!
