Krka National Park

Krka National Park

We may have been snowed out at Plitvice National Park but Krka more than made up for it.  The weather was fantastic, cold and clear, and we were the only visitors.  You first notice the blue lakes as you drive down the twisting road.  But when you reach the bottom everything changes.  It's a white-water paradise - travertine pools, cascading waterfalls, lush forests and rainbows everywhere.  Whoever designed the mile-long boardwalk must have been a photographer.  There is a photo op at every viewpoint - and they just keep getting better and better.  I can hardly remember a more enjoyable morning.

Back at Split we bought tickets for the ferry to Ancona, Italy then hung out at the boutique Hotel Luxe using their internet and waiting for the rental car folks to show up and take the car off our hands.  We boarded early and were all ready for bed in our cabin when the Marco Polo sailed at 9 PM.
