The Perfect Hosts

Nicole's idea of a light meal, Savoie

Nicole's idea of a light meal, Savoie

It would be difficult to find better hosts than Nicole and Thaddeus.  They excelled as tour guides.  Their selection of restaurants was perfect.  Their home in Savoie made me think of the Swiss Alps.  And they fed us like we were royalty.

Nicole and Thaddeus are practitioners of national pastime of France – eating and drinking.  Not only was the food excellent, Nicole’s presentation was worthy of Iron Chef.  And Thaddeus always seemed to choose the perfect wine, often three times a day.  Our final meal was a real heart-stopper, fondue.  The wine was local and the bread came from the village boulangerie.  The cheeses were produced by the local cheese co-op and I think we actually met some of the cows that contributed the milk.
