Camera issues

I was afraid of it from the start, but I think I'll have to buy a new camera for my sister.  I have done a bit of damage to the one she lent me for the trip.  Mostly cosmetic up to this point, but yesterday I got it a bit wet by accident.  I have pulled the casing apart a little bit, so I am hoping it will dry out and work for the rest of my trip, but that tends to void the warrenty, eh?

Other than that, I am having a good time in Tokaanu.  Quiet little place.  Ian (my WWOOF host) likes to go out on little adventures, so I am biking and hiking about with him.  We are also building a veranda for his bath room.  The other night I soaked for a while in the mineral baths.  They are heated by thermal energy (as are many things in this area).  In fact, last night I cooked corn, potatoes, onions, garlic and a zucchini using thermal steam.

I am also changing plans yet again and catching a ride with Ian to New Plymouth.  Appartenly the beaches are great.  I may be about to help out on a horse-farm while I'm there!  I have been planning the events for my South Island trip, and I need to make some serious money if I want to do all the fun stuff I have in mind.  For now, I am just enjoying watching the kittens play.
