The Main Man

Arrived at MMRDA grounds to see Dalai Lama 3 hours early and were probably the first ones there. Well chuffed with our prime viewing spot and wait patiently for his arrival. It is a major event and people are running around everywhere - lighting, media, sound checks.

Around 3pm it all kicks off and he finally appears on stage - feel very privileged to be here! He talks of inner peace, humanity, honesty, moral ethics, education and positive motivation in pretty rusty English but it is a pleasure to listen to - the guy just makes sense. Cheeky little monkey gets his translator to say any rude words he comes across - prostitutes / shit!

At the end of the speech we are allowed to move from our view point (about 50 ft from him) to the very front. It is great to be so close to him and watch the effect he has people around him. So glad i went it is something I shall never forget.

Am finding myself becoming more and more Indian - there is no nod of the head here for yes people just shake their head from side to side like nodding dogs and now i'm doing it too.

Visited Leopolds for choc shake this arvo - our waiter remembered us from last night and was quick to tell us there would be no beer today! Maybe they are all still recovering from our antics last night?

Early to bed tonight - hoping to get an early mornig sesh of laughing yoga then more sightseeing xxx
