Mom’s not busy today, so
she kindly decides to drive us into the city and show Rich some of the touristy
sights. To be fair to Alicia, she has already shown me the inside of about 100 shops, but it turns out Chicago has more to offer. Who knew..?
They get it into their heads it would be fun to go for a bike ride
along by the Lake. Once again I’m outnumbered and forced into exercising. But
this time its not so bad, you get some great views of the city while cycling
around Lake Michigan. We ride down the Navy Pier and see the tour boats coming and going, and we pass the city beaches covered with locals soaking up the summer sun.
After
returning the bikes, we grab lunch and walk around the city. On the way home, I
convince mom that we need a Chicago deep dish pizza and we stop at DiGiorno. Later we
all stuff ourselves full of pizza and collapse on the couch to watch lots of
American TV. Brilliant.
