Carnival in Bahia seems much more familiar. Must be the big sound trucks and the mass of people following it down the street. Reminds me of a Trini carnival...ah this is more like it!
We jump up with the crowd for a couple hours in the scorching Salvador heat. We even get the opportunity to see the "most famous" singer in Brazil at the moment, singing the carnival favorite. After the music stops we head back to Aldri's place for some much needed food.
The sun has gotten too much for me and I've been feeling rough. Carnival has taken its toll and I spend the rest of the day in bed, being tended to by Rich. (he even endured 2 viewings of the Sex and the City movie)
This mystery flu like illness plagues me for the next few days, which we spend in a hostel in the historic center of Salvador. The center is small, so even though we don't walk around too much we still see everything there is to see. (we even run into Ruppert again
