Cape Town - Strawberry Fields

SOUTH AFRICA | Friday, 2 January 2009 | Views [1077]

We plan another day out with Bevan and Ondine, but this time we're going strawberry picking. This is a great idea, because if we're going to be the stereotypical backpackers, it certainly makes sense to invest some time in honing our fruit picking skills! (all of you who said that fruit picking isn't the best job for us, you were right, too many bugs!) After an intensive hour of choosing only the very best strawberries, we decide to compare hauls and have a quick competition to find the best. We judge on shape, colour and size and it's a gracious Ondine that takes the much-acclaimed award.

After the joys of strawberry picking we go back to the amazing house Ondine and her sister are house sitting and cook up our fruit in pancakes. Yum!
