Tomorrow is a public holiday, there's an Astroboy exhibition at a museum in Tokyo that I might go to.
Tonight there's another enkai for the PTA, I never look forward to these things, and I suspect this will be less enjoyable than usual since I don't know anyone from the PTA.
So there's just Thursday and Friday, then I have 5 days off (Saturday through Wednesday). I'll be in Tokyo for 3 of those days which will be nice.
But really I can't wait for June to come around so I can get to some film festivals showing 'Flip'.
I'm going to see some screenings of the Short Shorts Film Festival in Yokohama next week. I may enter 'Flip' in this festival next year, but I missed the deadline this year. It's probably time to stop send entries out, I sent two more yesterday. I don't even know how many entries that makes, it's over 30 I think. Time to stop and see if I get any unsolicited invitations once the film starts screening. It's about time some festival programmers started doing the work.
Which reminds me I have to find somewhere to print a few posters and possibly some postcards to take with me.
Still waiting on Toronto, they said filmmakers will be contacted by 'early May'. I am not sure what they had in mind by 'early' but I'm assuming within the first week, which means sometime in the next 10 days.
I tried to change the flight from Tokyo to LA to the 19th, but there are no seats so I'm on a waiting list. If I can't et the 19th there's not much point going to Toronto, 2 days at the festival was just about worth it, turning up for the last day probably isn't if 'Flip' isn't screening. The chances of getting a final day screening are pretty slim. But I'm assuming that in the next month someone will probably cancel their trip, maybe swine flu will scare a few people off.
On the weekend I went to Tokyo with Marcus and met Wakana and a couple of Marcus's American friends. Marcus, Wakana and I went to the Science Museum first. There was an exhibition of props and artwork from the various Terminator movies and TV show. You can see some pictures in the gallery, along with the drawing I did for Wakana's birthday. I ended up drawing a little penguin, because I find the shapes easy to draw and I've always liked drawing birds.
It'd be nice to draw a bunch of them and have an exhibitio of penguin drawings in Tokyo somewhere. Penguins seem popular here and it'd be fun to do, maybe I should think about looking into that. Or not, it does seems like a lot of work.
Well take a look at the gallery and enjoy the handfull of pictures.
