'Flip' has been accepted into the 11/22 International Comedy Short Film Festival in Vienna. I originally got the email confused and thought it was Venice, oops.
It's a good start to the festival run, so far 2 acceptances and no rejections (3 acceptances if you count the Melbourne and Australian animation festivals separately, although they are administered by the same team)
Both these festivals are in June and it looks very doubtful there's any chance I can attend. I'm hoping for some big festivals to come through in the second half of the year that I can get to.
I went for a long ride on Friday, it was a fine day, but got a bit windy. In fact it got very windy over the weekend and resulted in a major ccrash at Narita airport which you probably heard about. Last night I couldn't sleep as garbage cans were being blown all around the carpark.
The weather is much warmer though and I can get by with much less gear on the bike.
Saturday I went to Isesaki, to a big shopping mall and saw 'Valkyrie' the Tom Cruise WW11 film. It was fine, not great, not bad.
This is the last week of school. Thursday is the last day, the closing ceremony is in the morning and then the ALT meeting in the afternoon. Friday there are no classes but I'll be volunteering at the kids English day camp in Kiryu.
Saturday is T-day, I fly out to Thailand in the early evening, arriving in Bangkok at about 11:30 PM not really looking forward to that, but it's better than the return flight the following week when I leave Bangkok at about midnight and get to Tokyo at 6:30 AM
It'll be nice to get out of town for a while.
