junior high school sports day was yesterday, it's a weekday so not as big a family affair, a few mothers came along and the local bigwigs I guess.
It was a fun day, not as crazy as the elementary event but that's to be expected. I didn't have any actual duties, I just took photos all day till it was time to help pack up at the end. I impressed the kids with my superhuman strength pulling a tent peg out of the ground and lifting bunches of tent poles by myself, amazing!
The enkai (drinking party) on monday night was pretty cool. There was less drinking and more eating involved. I couldn't have imagined the amount of food we were going to get, and then yesterday we got a refund of 40% of the cost for some reason.
I did seem to frustrate the office lady who was not impressed by me nursing my sake all night and refusing the seafood, then later I wanted an orange juice as well but for some reason my choice was offensive to her, something to do with the sake and juice being a bad mix?. I don't know what was going on.
Still it was a good night.
Have to go to elementary school now, the self introductions are over and I'm into regular classes, it's a bit intimidating.
