Morelia. It's been a while since I wrote and Morelia seems far away now ....I am writing this in a little camping area in Cacahuamilpa, but more about that later....
Moreala - high expectations. We were so pampered and it all spilled over to the beautiful but polluted lake of Chapala and the little village of Ajijic where we celebrated James's birthday.
The places we go are very colored by the people we interact with . Ernest and Marina showed us around in Ajijic - we walked up to a waterfall without water (to everyones surprise). Ice cream, laughter, good company!! Hibiscus candy and all.
It was hard to let those two new friends go back to Guadalajara - we pedalt around the lake....1000 km to Oaxaca.
Over to the mountains to another lake - Patzcuaro and met up with our new host Ana in Tzintzuntzan (just love the names...)
Then the quick road to Morela which kept us pedaling for a few days ....sweet, is all I have to say. Very sweet! The dulce museo, the city, but we got antsy fairly quick and the road of a thousand hills kept calling yes, it is called Mil Cumbres....
Such beautiful landscape - worth the climbs and the switchbacks, but the people were different, more suspicious and we got our first "no" when we came to a place to ask to camp. hmmmm...just keep going and we got a "yes" at a construction sight. Good night!
