Out of the bubble......... One's destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things.-- Henry Miller

Into thin air..........

This is cold, cold, cold. Glad, I bought a really good sleeping bag before I left CA. The trick is now not to have to go pee at night at the same time it is essential to drink a lot of water/liquids with all the activity up here in the thin air. I never figured that one out. One night I went pee 4 times even though I didn’t drink THAT much. Other bodily interesting observations are: Little wounds on the skin, like mosquito bites or little scratches have a hard time healing up. The skin seems thin, dry and wrinkly all over. Moods and brain functions appear feeble.

A whole group of trekkers German and Swiss are now staying in “our” lodge with guides and porters.

I feel proud to carry my own stuff.

We are now at 4350m. I love the short hikes, even though we are high up, it’s so much easier on my sore legs and feet. Tomorrow we will get up early and climb to our goal: Gokyo, which is the half point of our trek.
