The Cave...

Today is day 7th – finally bandaged up my swollen right knee – feels better, but we also been climbing uphill- very little downhill – my knees sure like that. It’s been warm and a bit tropical at 1600m in the Khari Khola Valley, but we get clouds that threaten to rain on us every day – no really good news, too many clouds………….

On this day we wound up sleeping in a cave- had some instant noodles in a cup and slept next to the fire in the dusty, black sand. Some local women come by and helped us make a fire, because we had difficulties. They were laughing very hard about us at times, but also started to look concerned as well. Gita pulled out the chocolate – man it never tasted so good…………..Then it started pouring down, with thunder and lightning – how about a real adventure? Larry kept building trenches during the night, so the water wouldn’t run into our sleeping bags. Gita and I slept pretty soundly!

I slept well enough, dreaming about the Dukkers/ McClain family and Zilly. Even my neighbor Dan was in it: I had come back from my trip, just for a day or two to visit warm, sunny CA.

I woke up home sick, a bit cold and fairly dirty.

You are always welcome here for a good sleep and a good meal and a dose of sunshine dreaming or awake! It sounds so HARD!
