11/4/09 – Saturday Bhandar to Sete

Today our goal is Sete- the longest, hardest and furthest yet……My legs are sore – we made it, but I wish I would never have to hike ever again………………Man, this is hard!!!!

The locals are amazing. We met a porter who carried a 100kg load – he himself weighed 70kg.

We ascended 1050m today (about 3500 feet) on  some steep, steep trails with rocks and dirt and burnt forests – I have never done anything like this before – nothing even close to comparing.

We are staying along the trek with locals who provide shelter and food. Single houses  and little villages are only connected by trails. The Nepali people are on those trails all the time, carrying goods to the markets to sell. Young kids, old people, some barefoot or in “flip flops” . The treks are shared with some tourists and their porters and guides – not many carry their own shit and find their own way like we do…..
