Cheating on the 9th day...............

INDIA | Monday, 23 March 2009 | Views [1243] | Comments [1]

Here the daily schedule at the center for the 10 days:

4am – wake up

4:30-6:30am meditation and chanting

6:30am-7:15am breakfast

7:15am-8am rest

8-9 group med.

9-11 instructions for med.

11-11:45am lunch

11:45 am- 1 rest

1-2:30pm med

2:30-3:30 group med

3:30 – 5pm med with instructions

5-6 tea (no dinner)

6-7 group med

7-8:30pm video on discourse

8:30 – 9 group med

9 – 9:30pm questions to the teacher

9:30pm lights out!

Now, REALLY, look at this, if you may – do you realize, that I was meditating 10 hours a day?

One idea must be, that the courses (all over the world ) at the center are for free for everybody who is excepted and this schedule WILL keep people away who are not seriously into wanting to find out what this is all about and are only after the “free food” –

This is a discourse on the establishment of awareness: Observation of body, of sensation, of mind and of the mental contents. It doesn’t follow any religion, Guru or devotion of any kind. This technique purifies the mind  - helps “to tame the blender”, the wild beast that runs in all directions…………

Anyways, I learned something – if it’s not just sitting still in one spot for one hour (at least) without moving ANY PART OF MY BODY. Yes, I did it – can you believe THAT????  ( I can’t!!!) YOU TRY THAT and you know what I mean!

We were prisoners for 10 days (brainwashed???),

handed ourselves over to a regiment schedule, where fed and taken care of (yes, like a monk)

The silence and the no communication (except with the teacher) wasn’t as hard as I thought ( I did cheat on the 9th day though………..), but it did make me feel like being in “my own bubble (yes, VERY DIFFERENT THAN BEING “OUT OF MY BUBBLE).

The world was so very, very far away…………….
