Day 87 - Hari Krishna in Brazil

Well, I have to say that this trip has been full of surprises! Just when I thought I couldn´t love Brazil any more - I find another reason why I think this is the best place on earth!
Today Caina and I took a walk to the local markets to see what we could spend our reals on - not much. BUT, it was an excellent opportunity to check out the local park and some of the wonderful old buildings around the neighbourhood. Porto Alegre reminds me so much of Cooks Hill/Newcastle town area - a blend of funky cafes and shops mixed in with renovated terraces and old colonial style houses. There is music on the streets and many parks, areas for sitting and talking and tonnes of places to window shop.
A definite highlight was lunch at the Hari Krishna cafe on the corner of the street running by the park here in Porto Alegre. Caina and I feasted on the best juices money can buy (uva = grape & abacaxi = pineapple) plus excellent hamburgers and veggie pasties! I loved it and will definitely be back to eat there again! It was also dirt cheap (im talking $AUD10 for 2 people and heaps of food).
Signing off from the lotus position
