My name is Katie (or Goldhair to Egyptian men or Gerri - The liability and Honeymunchkin, to my 2 best friends).

I developed a small obsession with On The Road last year and decided that I wanted to be Jack Kerouac and hitch hike through America.
Luckily for me I have a friend called Jenny who shares the same ideas about traveling (There is also a third Lissa, however she is yet to join us) and this blog is a record of our trip round the world.
We have no real route. There is no where we wont rule out. We will pretty much speak to anyone, eat anything and try anything that comes our way ... If you dont want to try new things, meet new people and have andventures you might as well have stayed at home.

When we finally reach America we still intend to hitch from NY to San Fran (even if we are old women at that point!)
