Day trip to the Drakensberg Mountains – a World Heritage Site

We made an expedition into the genteel Drakensberg Mountains – lots of pastures, maize fields and villages on the way.   The area is green and lush after the recent rains.  Lunch was on the terrace at the Cathedral Peak Hotel.  The photos tell it all – very picturesque! Then to follow was a braii (BBQ) at the local Linga Lapa Restaurant with some of the locals.  We were invited back for coffee to Glen Afton Farm by Julia and Alan who have a lovely property and run a large B & B.
