Hello All!
We`ve been in Beppu for a few days now - although we only planned to stay here two nights, tonight will be our fourth! Quite a funny story - goes like this:
Tour Leader Andrews worked out that if we bought a 7 Day Japan Rail Pass we could literally dash about the country like crazed fools before climbing Mount Fuji on Friday, for not a great deal of money.
So...(very unlike us) we`ve got our itinerary sorted, we know exactly where we`re going and when, have booked a couple of hotels - we`re doing well! Organisation Central! Come on Japan!!
We turn up at Beppu Train Station ( a day earlier than we even need the ticket) and...
They say: `Can`t buy in Japan....`
We say: `WHAT?!?!?!?!`
Just to get a second opinion on that (come on, she was obviously incorrect and didn`t know what the heck she was on about), we trundled over to Tourist Information...but NO, you can only buy these tickets when you are outside of the country.....didn`t read that bit did you Mr Tour Leader?! Hehe!!
But in my wisdom, I got my Dad on the case and we soon had it sorted that he would get some and get them couriered over to us - only thing is, we`re stuck in Beppu until they arrive....and there`s not a whole lot to do here to be honest! We`ve been attached to these computers for literally the past two days....
So everyone....cross those fingers and toes and get praying that they arrive tomorrow as promised (We`ve booked ALL our accommodation etc. for the next week, so we`re really really quite keen for them to arrive).
Heheheheheeeee!!!
