No place like home...Thank goodness !!! For those of you that know us, you'll already know the story, basically we decided that we've both worked enough (I've been working for 11 years, Danielle for 11 Months) and that we deserve some long overdue R&R and decided to take in some sights....enjoy

Just Ubud

22nd - 26th April 2007

Ubud is a very nice little (ish) town in the middle of Bali, we stayed
for three nights in a very pretty little hotel, with a balienese carved wooden door, but no lock, still very cute!

The town itself is very arty, with lots of galleries and locals selling
hand crafted art stuff, we could have spent loads of money buying stuff
and even saw a DHL, if only James would have brought his old business
cards I'm sure we could have blagged free shipment home!

During our second day we decided to hire a couple of bikes and discover
the surrounding areas, every single hill we got to Danielle had to get
off and walk, so the trip took most of the day! But we saw a different
side to Ubud, biking through the local villages as the locals were
actually making the carvings (only problem was it was almost mass produced with each village carving the same item by hand!).

Anyway as normal we only stayed long enough to get some laundry done
(Danielle wants me to mention that she spend an hour washing our whites
by hand and got a blister on her finger [there, there!] and its still
there some 10 days later), so made plans to move out of Bali and on to
Sumartra (via our favourite shanty town of Jakarta - which you can catch on next weeks installment of round the world in eighty ways!!).

xx
