In the Garden of Buck house

In the Garden of Buck house

Today started at Buckingham Palace.  We went for a walk outside and then headed in for our tour of the State Rooms. A huge number of people went through as we did but it was impressive how well it was organised and did not feel particularly crowded.  We had an audio guide which gave the history and uses of each room of this working palace (apparently one of the very few).  The rooms themselves were magnificent and one of them showcased some of Charles’s sponsored charities.  We finished with morning tea (cup of tea and cake of course) on the back deck overlooking the garden where the garden parties ae held.  Then the train out to Chiswick, a bite of lunch in Angie’s café with a couple of Brits and their puppy and then headed to Fullers which is a family owned brewery that is still one of the major beer suppliers for the city and country – in fact they are supplying the Hockey World Cup.  We got the tour and it was all Ian was hoping for.  We toured all the areas where they make the beer and our guide Dave, was informed and looked after us.  At the end we got to taste many varieties.  And to finish off, went to the Fullers pub and relaxed in an old style English pub for one before catching the overground back home to Streatham Hill (pronounced Stretam).
