I think we are the only people in this accommodation – it is great 😊. We chatted with Dirk and Andrea about what to do today and they suggested the chair lift – and how exciting could that be? So we caught the bus to the base of Kirzsteinhorn. Three cable cars later we were blown away (thankfully not literally). The ride up each of them was unbelievable – almost scaling a rock face. I am unsure how the pylons are attached. The pylons for the last leg are not attached – they are floating as they are on a glacier. It is apparently world first technology. At the top (3029m) you could go down some underground tunnels where the history of the place was explained. We loved it up there. The day was perfect, and we checked out the bar, managing to find some seats right on the window. Tested the gluhwein and beer, as is appropriate for the Austrian Alps. We came down about three when the clouds came in and caught the bus back home. Then wandered around the lake exploring the town. Managed to locate “The Grand Hotel” which features in Band of Brothers. Had an easy tea and then watched Miss Fisher in German - lol
