Looked like rain had set in but it did not matter as our first point of call was indoors. The Spanish Riding School with its famous Lipizzanier stallions was amazing. Both horses and riders were exceptional, the venue was special, and our seats were good. Can’t ask for more. Went to St Stephens, the biggest cathedral in Vienna and then decided as the weather had cleared that the hop on hop off would be good. This one had excellent commentary giving current information but much history on both Vienna and Austria. Then headed to the Nasch Market which is a vast market with 16th century origins and many food and vintage stalls, and lots of café/restaurants. Karl’s Platz was next, and a tour of the church was foiled by a concert. The U-Bahn station here is so big underground you can walk from here to the centre of the old town – about ¾km. Then to the night bus tour where we had a witty guide giving commentary (not a recording as per the day one). He and the tour were very informative. Tea at the Nasch Market – Wiener (pronouncing the W as a V please) schnitzel of course 😊.
