Up and straight to the Royal Palace museum. We were able to secure tickets to the Green Vault but with an hour to kill before our time, we started with the Turkish chamber and the Armoury both of which were excellent. But the vault was even better. Many of the treasures August the Strong (1700s) had collected during his reign. He was probably the most important person in Saxon royalty in their history. The sheer wealth that Augustus spent and accumulated was jaw dropping. There was enough to rival the British Crown jewels in there, and then some other valuable stuff as well. The palace itself has been partially reconstructed due to the bombing. With our brains full to overflowing we did a little shopping before catching the train to Prague. We found our accommodation with little trouble and settled in, then found a nice little spot for dinner.
