Our last day in Berlin and the weather was beautiful. We headed off to the Deutsches Technikmuseum. Navigated the U Bahn successfully by ourselves. The museum was amazing. Had a huge air and space display – both pre and post-war. And an amazing train area – even bigger than the one in York. On top of that they had a great display of old and new forms of transport as well as a networking/computer area which even had a Cray machine! We were absorbed there for hours – literally. It was lucky that most of the descriptors were in German as I would still have been on the 4th floor waiting for Ian to finish the aeronautical displays. Left there to visit a couple of big shopping centres and found that German shops do not function on a Sunday. So, headed back to the city and went for a cruise up the Spree before having a very German meal of knudel and meat.
