Woke to the bells and the sounds of the train coming through the village. Wandered to 200m to the harbour and caught the ferry to Monterossi and had a wander round there and lunch. The seafood here is great. Monterossi is about twice as big as Vernazza and more commercial so very pleased with our pick. It's an extremely pretty part of the world with steep cliffs and much greenery and very quaint villages. Spent the remainder of the afternoon discovering Vernazza which meant (just for something different) stairs. I reckon we did a good 500 again up and down towers and round through tiny little streets. This has been our first overcast day - we have been so fortunate with the weather. My Italian now has a vocabulary of about 10 words.
