Oh my god, what was I thinking yesterday. Woke up this morning feeling dreadful, haven't had a hangover for ages and I'm sure I was given some advise once about not flying whilst feeling this rubbish. Oh well too late now!
Off to the airport for my 2 flights to get me to San Antonio. Had a McDonald's (a very rare occurrence for me) and I can honestly say it didn't make me feel better.
But what was really nice, as I was waiting for my first flight this young, very attractive, guy commented on how nice my bracelets were and I asked where I was from so i told him I was from England but the bracelets were from Africe. And straight up he took a beaded bracelet off his wrist and passed it to me saying "well now you've got one from San Diego". How lovely! Apparently someone had done this to him when he was travelling and he thought it was sa great thing to do. I shall have to remember this for future encounters.
Finally by about 4 pm as I was getting close to San Antonio I started to feel better. Just as well as we had some wicked turbulence on the flight - Yipppeeeee
Treated myself to the luxury of the shuttle bus to my hostel as it was just too much to do the whole bus thing! And what a strange place the hostel is. Basically the main building is an old Historic San Anotonio building called Bullis House and then on the side they have 2 Nissen huts which is where the dorms are supposed to be. However, due to a plumbing problem the womens dorm/nissen hut is out of action so I got put in a 2 bed room in the main house with an older Australian lady. The hostel is well out of the way and about as quiet as a dead mouse! bit of a change from the party hostel of San Diego OH and the guy on the desk made me think of Norman Bates from Psycho......Uh Oh............
