With the end in sight to this year's stint in Europe I thought it was probably a good idea to have a quick look at Wales given I hadn't made it up that way at all up to this point. I decided that a quick day trip up to Cardiff was probably my best bet.
I jumped on an 8am bus which took just over three hours to roll into Cardiff - it had the makings of a beautiful day in London but Cardiff wasn't so flash and I was welcomed with a heavy shower. I'd been advised that Cardiff was the sort of place where a few hours would suffice - I think I'd endorsed that comment after about fifteen minutes. It's a nice enough place, but clearly their tourism industry plays on its title as Gateway to Wales rather than what it could offer itself. Nonetheless, I got some good exercise walking around the streets and parks which looked quite good with the change of seasons.
The highlight of my time in Cardiff was a tour of Millennium Stadium, the location where Australia won the 99 Rugby World Cup. It's a pretty impressive stadium, and was actually designed by the same guy who designed Stadium Australia.
Jumped back on a bus into London at 5pm and arrived back just after 8.
