Petajavesi Church, WHS

We have visited every site our travel hero, Rick Steves, recommended - and then some!  He limited himself to Helsinki but we got into the countryside, too.  Finland is the size of Montana (4th largest of the US states) but has a about half the people of New York City.  North of Aanekoski, 1/3 the way up Finland and our northernmost point, the population reallyreally thins out.     Our route took us to 1)Porvoo, a cute town of 18th Century wooden houses; 2)Verla Groundwork & Board Mill WHS; 3)Lakeside Parikkala; 4)Olavinlinni Castle; 5)Petajavesi Lutheran Church WHS; 6)Sammallahdenmaki WHS Iron Age burial sites; 7)18th Century wooden houses at Rauma WHS.
