Rochester/Mitchell

USA | Friday, 8 January 2010 | Views [239]

So Rochester was just a stop gap. Driving was difficult to get there a lot of snow on the road. we watched the Rose Bowl in a bar. A nice town. the center is conected by internal walkways so people can stay out of the cold.

Mitchell on the other hand was a bit more random. We were driving along and having missed the turning for the SPAM museum we were looking for an alternative sight to see. Adverts for a Palace made out of Corn began about 150miles away so we figured it must be good. As it was it was a bit crap. It was a bulding with corn cobs stuck to the side of it. It was however hosting a cage fight! We bought tickets and stayed to watch locals beat the crap out of each other. The temperature was -30C but indoors with beer made it bearable. We called a taxi to pick us up and a bus turned up-they didnt do taxis, just buses. The town was proper local, proper random. Also had the best steak in memory at a place called chef louie's great stuff
