Midnight Sun in Ramberg

NORWAY | Thursday, 10 July 2008 | Views [1136]

We were lucky to get a clear night on my last night in A (also my last night north of the Arctic circle and last chance to catch the real midnight sun), so, after some digesting time (that fish was sooo good), the four of us squashed into Dave's car and headed off into the midnight sunset.

We headed out to a beach at Ramberg (about 1/2h down the road from A - had to go there cos A was facing the wrong way and had mountains blocking us from the sun).

We made a fire (though sadly there were no marshmallows), and sat back to watch the sun set (around midnight)... and come right back up again at 1am!  Was a truly surreal experience, documented by many photos.

When we got back to the hostel around 2am it was as light again as the middle of the day!

Definitely a highlight of my trip so far!
