We visit only the west of the Netherlands, as most tourists do. Amsterdam is charming, and we enjoy strolling along its canals, admiring the architecture and vibrant city life.
Together with traveller friends Andre and Robert, from hometown Sechelt, we explore the Rijksmuseum, with a post-tour discussion over Dutch beers and delectables. The next day we're faced again with the incredible works of a master, this time Vincent Van Gogh, whose bold strokes capture moods and light with vibrant whorls of colour.
After only a short stay in Amsterdam, we pass through Haarlem, Den Haag and Delft on the way back into Belgium and beyond.
