Bright lights, clean streets, all looking pretty. Let's hear it for Singapore...concrete jungle where shopping dreams are made of, there's nothing you cant buy! Rich: Terrible English, but to be fair Alicia is just (mis)quoting her namesake - Ms Keys
Ok it's not exactly NYC, but Singapore has got something special. It's modern architecture, riverside cafes, beach island, older quarters, botanical gardens, and then there's Orchard Street - shopping paradise.
We spend 3 days exploring the city on the hop on, hop off bus, which takes you to most of the interesting spots in the city. We stop at Long Bar in Raffles Hotel and try the original Singapore Sling. We check out Chinatown and Little India, go on a River cruise, and head over to Sentosa - the weird theme park type island. We even take a ride on the Singapore Flyer - a copy of the London eye, only 5 meters taller (something they point out repeatedly!)
It's expensive though and 3 days is enough. Next stop London!
