Alicia & Rich's Roads to Everywhere London to Australia on the route less traveled

Philly

One of the great things about Delaware is its close proximity to big cities. Having grown up here, I’ve been to all the interesting tourist sights and today I get to take Rich to see the sights of Philadelphia.

Well we finally find parking after driving around Philly for about an hour... First stop, a greasy cheesesteak joint.

This is my first experience of cheesesteaks. It turns out there's even a specific way of ordering these things - they're clearly pretty crazy about them here. I go for cheese whiz with onions. It's good and I am converted to the Philly way of life.

After we’re sufficiently stuffed, we head for the Liberty Bell and walk around Independence Hall and Ben Franklin’s house. We even drive by the Rocky statue, but unfortunately don’t have enough time to run up the steps.

After a great day in Philly, we head back to Kina’s house for dinner with another one of my childhood friends, Shara. I haven’t seen Shara since I was a kid and once again, we spend all night catching up and reminiscing.
