Despite the title I haven't been spending all my days eating pastries; just one day when I started work at an awkward time so that when I was finally allowed on my lunch break it was afternoon tea. And I had been snacking on the breakfast pastries until then. I love pastries!!! But that was probably because they were 'free'. And the sample caramel frappachino from Starbucks in Westfield was mighty good too! When in London and people are offering you free food you don't refuse.
Speaking of Westfield, the Londoners over here are in such awe of the shopping centre I had to go along and check out what made this Westfield any different to the ones at home. Champagne Bar. Need I say more?
I also popped into Harrods. The food court is AMAZING!! And it's not at all like the typical food courts in Australia. They are just so much more sophisticated over here; both in Westfield and Harrods. As for the actual stock, each designer seems to only have a couple of racks full of clothes in order to accommodate every one major fashion designer in London and possibly the world. And any female going to Harrods has to walk through the 'Shoe Jungle' (You may quote me) WOW!
Other highlights of the week - The Doctor Who Experience (Loved it!!!! And might possibly go see it again before it finishes) and going dancing @ Leicester Square. So much fun! But plenty expensive with the cover charge and coat room fee, not to mention drinks. We got asked into the VIP section which was fun, until we went to the bathroom and the bouncer refused to let us back in again. Some people take their jobs way to seriously!
So a month later and I'm really starting to feel how expensive this city is. But I don't get offered free food everyday and while I might be spending to go and see and do things, the memories (and photos) that result from the reduction of my bank balance are priceless.
