Blurred memories Memoirs of a lost and bewildered Australian chick through Europe.

"Poorly"

UNITED KINGDOM | Wednesday, 13 February 2008 | Views [511] | Comments [1]

I swear i must have a permanent smirk on my face over here. I love the way the poms speak (and no girls, not just their sexy accents). They really do say the funniest things. My absolute favourite at the moment is the word poorly. They say it all the time.

"He's a bit poorly"

"I'm feeling a bit poorly"

I mean this is so much more fun than we talk. I'm feeling a bit sick, or i'm feeling a bit crook. The english way sounds so much more refined. I love it! (I'm such a snob!)

PS. I saw heaps more squirrells the other day. Emma still isn't sharing my enthusiasm.

pps. No i'm not talking like them yet, but i have to check myself somethines just in case

I'm surprised you haven't introduced the poms to the term "meh" ......
